W. Petrignani has been a resident of Aberdeen for 38
years. He graduated from the Matawan-Aberdeen school system in
1986. From there he studied at Rutgers, NJIT, Brookdale and graduated
from Kean University with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting in
1991.
Phil currently works for NJ Transit as a Quality Assurance Supervisor
in the Private Carrier Department. Before that he held various positions
in the company for a total of 13 years.
Phil is married to a wonderful wife and has one son.
“I decided to run for council after attending numerous
Planning/Zoning/Council meetings. I’m tired of the ‘business
as usual’ attitude at these meetings, where it seems
like all the real decisions are already made, and where there
is often a lack of respect shown to residents by board and council
members.”
Phil feels the following issues need to be addressed:
1. Eminent Domain.
The town is abusing their power of eminent domain. There
are several properties in this town that are currently being condemned
so they can be "sold" to a developer for building projects.
2. Open Government.
What exactly goes on in those closed-door Executive Sessions?
3. Building.
What happened to the Town's Master Plan? Every time you look at
the Zoning Board Agenda someone is subdividing an already undersized
lot. Do you like to see undersized lots with oversized homes? I don't.
4. Taxes.
What can I say, they are too high. The school budget needs
to be addressed. Every year it gets voted down by the citizens
and winds up at the Council to be reworked. I think the Council
should take this opportunity to examine and work out improvements
to the school budget and stop suggesting they have no responsibility
for our budget problems.
